Connection to the Great Gatsby:

The poem and photograph on the previous page make me think of the Great Gatsby. They remind me of Gatsby's desolation and loneliness. The places described and viewed are not necessarily conforming to the regular definition of "Desolation", for they are not arid nor are they depressing. They are however void of consolation, of love, and of privacy, Much like Gatsby's life. Gatsby has no true friends other than nick, he cannot have his true love, and he is always under the scruple of his comrades.
